Women of Faith
Examines some of the negative myths associated with being called a “strong Black woman,” that can cause women to compromise their mental, physical, and spiritual health, especially women of faith. Course discussion will highlight how faith communions can both support and hinder healthy approaches to womanhood and examine some essential practices to maintain a synthesis of faith and personal regimens to be healthy in every way, led by Rev. Leading Churches Through Uncertain Times
A targeted conversation on the importance of pastoral care and planning. This course is for pastors and church leaders. It is designed to provide examples of creative and cutting-edge ways to lead churches through the practice of pastoral care. (In-person and virtual/live stream access available)

This course will address the changing landscape of urban communities and the most effective leadership methods employed by churches who serve in urban communities. Led by Northern Seminary.
Christian Education Ministry Design and Leadership

Adult Ministry Arts Courses
Liturgical Dance for Adults
This is a three-part course that examines dance theory, the theological and historical foundations of religious dance for youth, and principles of dance techniques for adults. It teaches students to appreciate a variety of worship art forms. This group learns the broader implication of what it means to praise and worship God in the Christian context.
Music Ministry Leadership
This course examines the importance of music and liturgy in worship. It demonstrates how to plan a worship service that incorporates thematic music and liturgy. Designed for music ministers. It also shows worship leaders and minsters of music how to work within the framework of the pastoral and other ministries to present programs of worship that teach and nourish congregations in their desire to glorify God.
The Theology of the Black Church
Virtual course with Northern Seminary, Dr. Marshall Hatch, instructor.
Preaching as Narrative
This course will explore value and methods of the oral tradition of Africans and African Americans as it applies to preaching, as well as the rhetorical devices that contributes to effective story telling.

Youth Ministry and Courses
Drill Team (Ages 5–12)
his course teaches techniques and methods for Drill Team presentation. Must be enrolled in this class to compete. It integrates military-style maneuvers with Scripture verses and Christian hymns as a way to increase Bible knowledge and understanding and to enliven the experience of worship for children.
Drill Team (Ages 13–Up)
This course teaches techniques/methods for Drill Team presentation.
Must be enrolled in this class to compete. It integrates military style commands and movements with Scripture verses, hymns, and other aspects of Christian worship that lead to a greater understanding of the Bible.
Dance Ministry (Ages 5–12)

Teen Scene (Ages 13–Up)
This course examines the faith cognitive development of older teenagers. It builds on the learning concepts introduced in the previous class.
Youth For Christ (Ages 9–12)
This course is an age-appropriate study focusing on God’s Word and its relevance in the life of older elementary children today that will challenge them to apply and live God’s Word daily. Specifically the focus of this week’s session will be on what it means to believe in Jesus. It will examine the areas of faith by analyzing passages of the Bible from both the Old and New Testaments. Select passages such as Moses before the Red Sea, Jesus in Jerusalem and Nazareth, the Transfiguration, and the faithful biblical heroes of Hebrews 11 will be studied.
Young Believers (Ages 6–8)
This course is an age-appropriate study focusing on God’s Word and its relevance in the life of middle/elementary children. It will challenge them to apply and live God’s Word daily. It focuses on the central principle of Christian love as shown in the ministry of Jesus. Select Scripture passages that evaluate Jesus’ love for others will be examined as the context for teaching children about God’s love for them. John 3:16 is the underlining emphasis of the session, along with John 14–16. Other Bible stories emphasizing Jesus’ love will also be examined.
Super Money Kids
Course that initiates money talks with young kids around foundational money concepts: Saving, Spending and Sharing. This course is open to parents, guardians, and teachers as well. It is taught by Super Money Kids founder Courtney Hale.
Oratorical Scholarship Competition: Techniques for Public Speaking
This is an in-depth study of techniques and methods used to enhance public speaking within the context of the church. This course is for contestants in the Rev. T. B. Boyd, Jr. Oratorical Contest. Contestants must be rising 11th or 12th graders. Students will learn the various types of speech (persuasive, informative, instructional, entertainment, and special occasion) as well as the parts of speech that will help them to develop solid composition for oral presentation. Selection of proper topics also will be studied.
