Rev. Dr. Neichelle R. Guidry is a highly sought-after teacher, preacher, leader and commentator. As a global though leader, she is highly regarded as a subject matter expert on millennials and faith, breaking gender dynamics in the church, womanist and liberation theologies and praxes, and faith and social justice issues.

A spiritual daughter of New Creation Christian Fellowship of San Antonio, Texas, where Bishop David Michael Copeland and Rev. Dr. Claudette Anderson Copeland are her pastors, Rev. Dr. Neichelle was ordained to ministry in 2010.

Dr. Neichelle is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Yale Divinity School, where she received a Master of Divinity degree. While at Yale, she received many honors, including the Walcott Prize for Clear and Effective Public and Pulpit Speaking and the William Sloane Coffin Alumni Award for Peace and Justice. Dr. Neichelle went on to further her studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, where she completed her Doctor of Philosophy degree in the area of Liturgical Studies with a concentration in Homiletics. Her dissertation is entitled, “Towards a Womanist Homiletical Theology for Subverting Rape Culture.” She is a member of the Society for the Study of Black Religion.

Dr. Neichelle currently serves as the Dean of the Chapel and the Director of the WISDOM Center at Spelman College in Atlanta. She is also the creator of shepreaches, a virtual community and professional development organization that aspires to uplift African American millennial women in ministry through theological reflection, fellowship, and liturgical curation. She is also the creator and host of Modern Faith, the premier podcast for the spiritual nourishment of African American millennial women.

Dr. Neichelle has been recognized worldwide as a leading voice of faith for her generation and highlighted for her innovative, bold approach to leadership. She was recognized by TIME Magazine as one of “12 New Face of Black Leadership.” She was also named to the highly coveted EBONY Power 100 List for “quickly becoming one of her generation’s most powerful female faith leaders” as stated by Ebony Magazine. Dr. Neichelle was named one of “Ten Women of Faith Leading the Charge Ahead” by sojourners and her work with shepreaches was featured in the New York Times. She is a contributor to the bestselling book, What Would Jesus Ask?: Christian Leaders Reflect on His Questions of Faith (Time Books, 2015), and the author of Curating a World: Sermonic Words from a Young Woman Who Preaches (self-published, June 2016). Dr. Neichelle is active in the communities she serves and a proud member of the Society for the Study and Black Religion and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
